MAKE THE NUMBERS USEFUL

Paint and coating quantity calculator

Enter the net surface area, the number of coats specified for your system and the product’s coverage per litre for one coat. Use one coating product at a time; primers and different finish products need separate calculations.

How the calculation works

Calculated litres = net area × coats ÷ coverage per litre per coat. Planned litres = calculated litres × (1 + allowance ÷ 100). Containers = planned litres ÷ container volume, rounded up.

Use the result with care

Coverage is an input, not a supplied product claim. Substrate, preparation, application method and the coating system can change consumption. Check the actual product instructions, including how its stated coverage is defined. This uses identical container sizes and does not optimise mixed sizes. Allowance and coat count are not recommendations.
