MAKE THE NUMBERS USEFUL

Quote scope comparison calculator

Start with two quotes for the same intended work or purchase. Add the cost of identified items missing from each quote, then record any separate allowance you choose to include. Leave unresolved scope questions unresolved rather than guessing a price.

How the calculation works

Adjusted comparison total = quoted total + known missing items + additional chosen allowance. Difference = the higher adjusted total minus the lower adjusted total.

Use the result with care

Every adjustment here is an addition, not a deduction. Keep an item out of the allowance if it is already included in the quote or missing-items figure. A zero starting allowance is not a recommendation. These entries do not predict unknown costs or change the supplier’s quoted terms. Confirm comparable scope, specifications, exclusions, delivery, timing and payment terms separately. A lower entered total does not establish better quality or suitability.
